Artmath presents: Attack! of the 50ft Growing Pains

Artmath is collaboration between the sublime illustrator Hannah Mosley and myself. Originating from a longstanding appreciation and indeed admiration of one another’s work, we first started collaborating in the summer of 2009. We were so pleased with the results that we decided it was obvious Artmath would be an ongoing project between the two of us. Through shared interests and themes that run common in our work, we wish to present a visually impactful yet surreal projection of the past, present and future.
Artmath’s next project will be Attack! Of the 50ft Growing pains, at Nexus Art Café, Manchester, previewing on Friday 16th April 2010. Over a 6 week duration at Nexus, not only will the work itself grow and change, but there will be plenty of events to keep us all entertained, including Exquisite Corpse related activities, B-movie season at Nexus night café and most excitingly – a new night at Nexus, entitled Bright Club, which can be described as a thinking man’s variety club, which will premier on the theme ‘Growth’ and include a fine selection of guest speakers.
Attack! Will finally culminate in an alternate scenario, over at Islington Mill. On the 29th May, Artmath will be completing 24Hour Growing Pains as part of the Mill24 projects. And yes, we will be painting for 24 hours. Its nothing we’ve not done before.
So watch this space for more info!
